Hadith 35747
٣٥٧٤٧ - حدثنا أبو أسامة قال: ثنا عبيد اللَّه عن نافع قال: كان ابن عمر إذا حمل على بعير في سبيل اللَّه اشترط على صاحبه أن لا يهلكه حتى يبلغ وادي القرى أو حذاه من طريق مصر، فإذا خلف ذلك فهو كهيئة ماله يصنع ما شاء (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) that when Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to mount someone on a horse for jihad, he would set this condition: that he should not kill it before reaching Wadi Qura or the city on the way; when he passes that place, then it is like his own property—he may do with it as he wishes.
