Hadith 35497
٣٥٤٩٧ - حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن جعفر عن أبيه أن عليا أمر مناديه فنادى يوم البصرة: ألا لا يتبع مدبر، ولا (يذفف) (١) على جريح، ولا يقتل أسير، ومن أغلق بابه فهو آمن، ومن ألقى السلاح فهو آمن، ولا نأخذ من متاعهم شيئًا (٢).
Hazrat Ja'far narrates from his father that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of Basra ordered the announcer to proclaim: Beware! Do not pursue those who flee, do not kill the wounded, do not kill the captives, and whoever has closed the door of his house is safe, and whoever has laid down his weapon is also safe, and their belongings will not be looted.
