Hadith 35379
٣٥٣٧٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا سفيان عن جابر قال: سألت عامرا عن المسلمين (يغزون بأهل الكتاب؟ فقال عامر: أدركت الأئمة الفقيه منهم وغير الفقيه) (١) يغزون بأهل الذمة فيقسمون لهم ويضعون عنهم (من) (٢) جزيتهم، فذلك لهم نفل حسن.
Hazrat Jabir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I asked Hazrat Amir (may Allah have mercy on him) about those Muslims who take the People of the Book along for jihad? Hazrat Amir (may Allah have mercy on him) replied: I found both the jurist and non-jurist Imams that they too would take the dhimmis along for jihad. Then they would also distribute the spoils of war among them. And they would waive the jizya from them, and this was as an additional favor for them.
