من قال يؤم القوم أقرؤهم لكتاب اللهThose who say the one who knows most Quran should lead the prayer
Hadith 3494
٣٤٩٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن ثور الشامي عن (مهاصر) (١) (بن) (٢) حبيب عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا خرج ثلاثة مسلمين في سفر فليؤمهم أقرؤهم لكتاب اللَّه، (وإن) (٣) كان أصغرهم فإذا أمهم فهو أميرهم، وذلك أمير أمره رسول اللَّه (ﷺ) " (٤).
Hazrat Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When three Muslims are on a journey, the one among them who is the best reciter of the Holy Qur'an will lead them in prayer, even if he is the youngest. And when he leads them in prayer, he will be their leader. This is the leader whom the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has appointed as the leader.
