Hadith 34815
٣٤٨١٥ - حدثنا ابن (فضيل) (١) عن صدقة عن (رياح) (٢) بن الحارث قال: كان عمر يقضي فيما (سبت) (٣) العرب بعضها (على) (٤) بعض قبل الإسلام وقبل أن يبعث النبي ﷺ أن من عرف أحدا من أهل بيته مملوكا من حي من أحياء العرب ⦗٢٣٢⦘ (ففداه) (٥) العبد بالعبدين، والأمة بالأمتين (٦).
Hazrat Rabah bin Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) made a decision regarding those Arab captives who had taken each other captive before accepting Islam or before the Prophethood of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Whoever among his family knows that someone is a slave in such-and-such Arab tribe, then his ransom will be two slaves in exchange for one slave, and two slave women in exchange for one slave woman.
