Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of the Battle of Badr, I reached Abu Jahl, the accursed, in such a state that his leg was cut off and he was half-dead. And he was defending himself from people with his sword. So I said: All praise is for Allah who has humiliated and disgraced you, O enemy of Allah. He said: There is no man except that his own people have killed him. He (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I began to probe him with my small sword, so I shook his hand and his sword fell. I picked up his sword and killed him, until he became cold.
