ما ذكر في ابن رواحة ﵁Narrations Mentioned Regarding Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 34502
٣٤٥٠٢ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن إسماعيل عن قيس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ لعبد اللَّه بن رواحة: "ألا تحرك بنا الركاب؟ " فقال: عبد اللَّه إني قد تركت قولي، قال عمر بن الخطاب: اسمع وأطع، فنزل يسوق نبي اللَّه ﷺ ويقول: ⦗١٤٢⦘ لاهم لولا أنت ما اهتدينا … ولا تصدقنا ولا صلينا فأنزلن سكينة علينا … وثبت الأقدام إن لاقينا إن الذين (كفروا) (١) بغوا علينا فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "اللهم ارحمه"، فقال: عمر وجبت (٢).
Hazrat Qais, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawahah, may Allah be pleased with him: "Why do you not move our mount?" So Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, replied: "Indeed, I have left my poetry." Hazrat Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Listen and obey." So he, may Allah be pleased with him, got down and began to drive the mount of the Prophet ﷺ while reciting these verses: "O Allah! If it were not for You, we would not have been guided, nor would we have given charity, nor would we have prayed. So send down tranquility and mercy upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy. Surely, the disbelievers have transgressed against us." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Allah! Have mercy on him." Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Paradise has become obligatory."
