ما ذكر في فضل عثمان ابن عفان ﵁Narrations Mentioning the Virtue of Uthman ibn Affan (RA)
Hadith 34234
٣٤٢٣٤ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عاصم عن ابن سيرين أنه ذكر عنده عثمان فقال (رجل) (١): إنهم يسبونه، فقال: ويحهم يسبون رجلًا دخل على النجاشي في نفر من أصحاب (محمد) (٢) ﷺ (٣) فكلهم (أعطى) (٤) الفتنة غيره، قالوا: وما الفتنة التي أعطوها؟ قال: كان لا يدخل عليه (أحد) (٥) إلا أومأ برأسه فأبى عثمان، فقال: ما منعك أن تسجد كما سجد أصحابك؟ فقال: ما كنت لأسجد لأحد دون اللَّه ﷿ (٦) (٧).
Hazrat Asim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Hazrat Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) was mentioned about Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), a man said, "Indeed, people abuse him!" Upon this, he (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Destruction is for those people who abuse such a person who entered upon the king Najashi among a group of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ, while all others besides him fell into trial!" People asked: "What trial did those people fall into?" He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whoever entered upon that king would bow his head and greet him. But Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) refused to do so, so the king asked: 'What prevented you from prostrating as your companions have prostrated?' He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: 'I do not prostrate to anyone except Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.'"
