Hadith 32720
٣٢٧٢٠ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه بن موسى قال: أخبرنا إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن حارثة بن مضرب عن علي أنه خطب ثم قال: إن ابن أخيكم الحسن بن علي (١) قد جمع مالًا وهو يريد أن يقسمه بينكم، فحضر الناس، فقام الحسن فقال: إنما جمعته لفقرائكم، فقام نصف الناس، (فكان) (٢) أول من أخذ منه الأشعث بن قيس (٣).
Haritha bin Mudarrib narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon and then said: "Your nephew Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) has collected wealth and he wants to distribute it among you." All the people gathered, so Hasan stood up and said: "I have collected this wealth for your poor." Upon hearing this, half of the people stood up and left. Then the first person to take from this wealth was Ash'ath bin Qais.
