Hadith 32689
٣٢٦٨٩ - حدثنا يحيى بن آدم قال: حدثنا شريك (عن محمد) (١) بن عبد اللَّه المرادي عن عمرو بن مرة عن عبد اللَّه بن سلمة قال: بينا شاعر يوم صفين ينشد هجاء لمعاوية وعمرو بن العاص قال: وعمار يقول: (إلزق) (٢) (بالعجوزين) (٣) قال: فقال رجل: سبحان اللَّه تقول هذا وأنتم أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال له عمار: إن شئت أن تجلس فأجلس، وإن شئت (أن) (٤) تذهب فاذهب (٥).
Abdullah bin Salimah narrates that during the Battle of Siffin, a poet was satirizing Hazrat Muawiyah __REF_N__ and Amr bin Aas __REF_N__, and Ammar __REF_N__ was saying, "Stay close to the two elders." At this, a man said, "You say this even though you are a companion of the Messenger of Allah __QUR_N__?" Hazrat Ammar __REF_N__ replied, "If you wish to sit, then sit, and if you wish to go, then go."
