It is narrated from Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair that Ashtar and Ibn Zubair met. Ibn Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I struck him only once, but he struck me five or six times, then he threw me down towards my feet and then said, "By Allah, if you did not have a relationship with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I would have separated every joint of yours." The narrator says that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to the extent, "Alas, the ruin of Asma!" He says that later, the person who informed her of my being alive, she granted him ten thousand dirhams as a reward.
