Hadith 32526

Hazrat Ata bin Saib narrates that many people told me that one of the judges from among the judges of Syria came to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and said, O Commander of the Faithful! I have seen a dream which has made me anxious. He (Umar) asked, What is the dream? He said, I saw the sun and the moon fighting with each other, while half of the stars were with each of them. He (Umar) asked, Whose side were you on? He said, with the moon. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And We have made the night and the day two signs, then We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day bright." (And We made the night and the day two signs, so We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day bright.) He (Umar) said: Go away, by Allah, you will never work for me!
