Hadith 32339
٣٢٣٣٩ - حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا حماد (بن سلمة) (١) عن (أبي) (٢) جعفر الخطمي عن أبيه عن جده عمير بن حبيب بن (خماشة) (٣) أنه قال: الإيمان يزيد وينقص) (قيل) (٤) (له) (٥): (وما) (٦) زيادته وما نقصانه؛ قال: إذا ذكرناه وخشيناه فذلك زيادته، وإذا غفلنا ونسينا وضيعنا فذلك نقصانه.
Hazrat Umair bin Habib bin Khumasha, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Faith increases and decreases. He was asked: What is the increase and decrease of faith? He, may Allah have mercy on him, replied: When we remember it and fear that Being, then this is the increase of faith, and when we become heedless of it, forget it, and neglect it, then this is its decrease.
