Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Envy is not permissible except in two persons: one is the person whom Allah has granted the ability to recite the Qur'an, so he recites it day and night. Then another person says: If Allah had granted me the ability to recite the Qur'an as He has granted so-and-so, I would have done as he does in reciting. And the second is the person whom Allah has given wealth, so he spends it in the right way, then another person says: If Allah had given me wealth as He has given so-and-so, I would have done as he does in spending.
