Hadith 32035
٣٢٠٣٥ - حدثنا جرير عن منصور عن الحكم قال: كان مجاهد وعبدة بن أبي لبابة وناس يعرضون المصاحف فلما كان اليوم الذي أرادوا أن يختموا أرسلوا إليَّ وإلى سلمة بن كهيل، فقالوا: إنا كنا نعرض المصاحف فأردنا أن نختم اليوم فأحببنا أن تشهدونا إنه كان يقال: إذا ختم القرآن نزلت الرحمة عند خاتمته، أو حضرت الرحمة عند خاتمته.
Hazrat Hakam narrates that Hazrat Mujahid and Hazrat Abda bin Abu Lubabah and others used to recite the Qur'an. So, on the day they intended to complete the Qur'an, they would send a messenger to me and to Hazrat Salamah bin Khayl, inviting us, and would say: We have been reciting the Qur'an and today we intend to complete it; we wish that you also be present with us. Because it is said that when the Qur'an is completed, at the time of its completion mercy descends, or he said: at the time of its completion mercy is present.
