٣١٩٨٠ - حدثنا شريك عن فرات عن سعيد بن جبير قال: ﴿الْقَانِعَ﴾ [الحج: ٣٦]: السائل، ثم أنشد أبياتا (للشماخ) (١): لمال المرء يصلحه (فيغني) (٢) … (مفاقره) (٣) أعف من القنوع
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair, regarding the word "al-qani'" that appears in Surah Hajj of the Holy Qur'an, says that it refers to one who begs. Then he recited this verse of Shammakh: "A man's wealth reforms him and frees him from his needs; he is more chaste than the one who is content with begging."
