Hadith 31873
٣١٨٧٣ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير عن عبد الملك بن أبي سليمان عن رجل من أهل البصرة قال: أتى رسول اللَّه ﷺ بهدية، وعائشة قائمة تصلي، فأعجبه أن تأكل معه فقال: "يا عائشة أجمعي وأوجزي (قال) (١): قولي: اللهم إني أسألك من الخير كله عاجله وآجله، وأعوذ بك من الشر كله عاجله وآجله، وما قضيت من قضاء فبارك لي فيه واجعل عاقبته إلى خير" (٢).
A man from among the people of Basra narrates that a gift was brought to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, was standing and performing prayer. So he wished that she would eat with him, but the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her! Gather and shorten. He said: Say like this! O Allah! I ask You for all good, that which comes quickly and that which comes later. And I seek refuge in You from all evil, that which comes quickly and that which comes later. And whatever decision You have made, then place blessing for me in that decision, and make its outcome good.
