Hadith 31585
٣١٥٨٥ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ إذا أراد أن يخرج في سفر قال: "اللهم أنت الصاحب في السفر والخليفة في الأهل، اللهم إني أعوذ بك من (الضبنة) (١) في السفر والكآبة في المنقلب، اللهم اقبض لنا الأرض، وهون علينا السفر" (٢).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would supplicate as follows: O Allah! You are my companion in travel and my successor in the household. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from falling ill during the journey and from returning in a state of grief. O Allah! Fold the earth for us and make the journey easy for us.
