ما يدعى (به) للمريض إذا دخل عليهSupplication When Visiting a Sick Person
Hadith 31474
٣١٤٧٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة عن عبد اللَّه بن سلمة عن علي قال: اشتكيت فدخل علي النبي ﷺ (وأنا) (١) أقول: (اللهم) (٢) إن كان أجلي قد حضر (فارحني) (٣)، وإن كان متأخرًا فاشفني (أو) (٤) عافني، وإن كان بلاءً (فصبرني) (٥) فقال النبي ﷺ: "كيف قلت؟ " قال: فقلت له، فمسحني بيده ⦗٢٣٩⦘ (و) (٦) قال: "اللهم اشفه أو عافه"، فما اشتكيت ذلك الوجع بعد (٧).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was suffering from an ailment, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while I was supplicating in this manner: O Allah! If my death has arrived, then grant me relief through death. And if death is to be delayed, then grant me healing or bestow well-being upon me. If there is any calamity, then bless me with patience. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What are you reciting? Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I recited those words before him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his blessed hand over me and then supplicated: O Allah! Grant him healing or grant him well-being. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: After that, I never suffered from that ailment again.
