Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Asim bin Humaid narrates that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): With which words did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) begin the night prayer? Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Indeed, you have asked me about something that no one has asked me before you. Then she said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say "Allahu Akbar" ten times, praise Allah ten times, declare His purity ten times, and seek forgiveness ten times, and would supplicate as follows: "O Allah! Forgive me, guide me, grant me sustenance, and grant me well-being." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also seek refuge from the constriction of space on the Day of Resurrection.
