Hazrat Shurahbil bin Simt narrates: We said to Hazrat Ka’b bin Murrah: Will you narrate to us a hadith of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? So he began to say: Once we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Pray for water for the people of the tribe of Mudar. Hazrat Ka’b says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands in supplication and prayed: O Allah! Quench us with such rain that will make the earth green and lush, beneficial, coming quickly and not delayed, bringing benefit and not harm. Hazrat Ka’b says: The people had not even passed one Friday before so much rain fell that the earth became green and lush. Then the people came and began to complain about the rain before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the people said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Indeed, houses have begun to collapse. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed again: O Allah! Let the rain fall around us and not upon us. Hazrat Ka’b says: Suddenly, the clouds parted to the right and to the left.
