Hadith 31027
٣١٠٢٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن زينب (بنت) (١) أم سلمة (عن أم سلمة) (٢) قالت: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إنكم تختصمون الي وإنما أنا بشر، (ولعل) (٣) بعضكم أن يكون ألحن بحجته من بعض، وإنما أقضي بينكم على نحو (مما) (٤) أسمع منكم، فمن قضيت له من حق أخيه شيئًا فلا يأخذه، فإنما أقطع له قطعة من النار يأتي (بها) (٥) يوم القيامة" (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You bring your disputes to me, and I am only a human being. Perhaps some of you may present your argument more eloquently than others, so I judge between you according to what I hear. Thus, if I have judged in favor of someone, granting him a right that belongs to his brother, then he should not take it, for I have only given him a piece of fire, which he will carry on the Day of Resurrection."
