Hadith 30736
٣٠٧٣٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الرحيم (بن سليمان) (١) عن صالح بن صالح عن عبد الرحمن بن سعيد الهمداني عن مسعود رجل من آل أبي الدرداء: أن عليًّا لما رجم شراحة جعل الناس يلعنونها فقال: أيها الناس، لا تلعنوها، فإنه من ⦗٥٠٨⦘ أقيم عليه عصا حد فهو كفارته، جزاء الدين بالدين (٢).
Hazrat Masood, who is a member of the family of Abu Darda, narrates that when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stoned Shuraha, people began to curse her. Upon this, he said, "O people! Do not curse her. Because when a person is punished with the whip, it becomes an expiation for him. The recompense for a debt is in exchange for the debt."
