Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that Ma'iz bin Malik came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Indeed, I have committed adultery!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him, until he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a fourth time. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the order regarding him, so he was stoned. When the pain from the stones reached him, he began to run away from the pain, and in the meantime, he met a man who had a camel's jawbone in his hand, so he struck him with it and brought him down. The matter of his running away was mentioned before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he felt the pain of the stones. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not leave him?"
