Hadith 29984
٢٩٩٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن داود عن أبي حرب بن أبي الأسود أن لصا نقب بيت قوم فأدركه الحراس فأخذوه، فرفع إلى أبي الأسود فقال: وجدتم معه شيئًا؟ (فقالوا: لا) (١) فقال: (البائس) (٢) أراد أن يسرق فأعجلتموه، فجلده خمسة وعشرين سوطًا.
Hazrat Dawood narrates that Hazrat Abu Harb bin Abu Al-Aswad said: A thief broke into the house of some people. The watchmen saw him and caught him, and presented his case before Hazrat Abu Al-Aswad. He asked: Did you find anything with him? They said, no. He said: This poor and needy man intended to steal, so you acted hastily against him. Thus, he ordered that he be given twenty-five lashes.
