Hadith 29825
٢٩٨٢٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن أبي خالد عن عامر قال: جاء رجل إلى شريح] (١) فقال: إن شاة هذا قطعت غزلي، فقال: ليلًا أو نهارا؟ فإن كان نهارًا فقد برئ، وإن كان ليلًا فقد ضمن، وقرأ: ﴿إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ﴾ وقال: إنما كان النفش بالليل.
Hazrat Amir narrates that a man came to Hazrat Shurayh and said, "This man's goat has torn my woven cloth." He asked him, "Was it during the day or at night?" If it was during the day, the person will be free of liability, and if it was at night, then indeed that person will be responsible. And he recited this verse: Translation: "When the goats enter into the fields of the people," and said, "Surely, if the goats enter at night, then there is liability."
