Hadith 29637
٢٩٦٣٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن أبي ليلى عن الشعبي أن قتيلًا وجد باليمين بين حيين قال: فقال عمر: انظروا أقرب الحيين إليه فأحلفوا منهم خمسين رجلًا باللَّه: ما قتلنا ولا علمنا قاتلًا، ثم تكون عليهم الدية (١).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Layla narrates that Hazrat Shabi said: In Yemen, a man was found dead between two settlements, so Hazrat Umar said: Consider which of the two settlements he is closer to. Then, have fifty people from that settlement swear by Allah that they did not kill him, nor do they know who the killer is. Then, the blood money will be obligatory upon them.
