Hadith 29544
٢٩٥٤٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن ابن أبي نجيح عن كردم أن رجلًا سأل ابن عباس وأبا هريرة (وابن عمر) (١) عن رجل قتل مؤمنًا، فهل له من توبة؛ فكلهم قال: يستطيع أن يحييه؟ يستطيع أن يبتغي نفقًا في الأرض؟ أو سلمًا في السماء؟ يستطيع أن لا يموت؟ (٢).
Hazrat Kardam narrates that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), Hazrat Abu Hurairah, and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) about a person who has killed a believer—will his repentance be accepted? All these respected companions replied: Does he have the power to bring him back to life? Does he have the power to find a tunnel in the earth or a ladder to the sky? Does he have the power that death will not come to him?
