Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Hammad about two men who testified against a person, as a result of which his hand was cut off. Later, upon investigation, it was found that one of the two witnesses was a slave. What will be the ruling in this case? Both of them replied: The Imam will be held responsible.
