(ما يقول الرجل إذا نام وإذا استيقظ)Supplication When Sleeping and Upon Waking
Hadith 28223
٢٨٢٢٣ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن عبد اللَّه بن أبي السفر قال: سمعت أبا بكر ابن (أبي) (١) موسى يحدث عن البراء أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا استيقظ قال: "الحمد للَّه الذي أحيانا بعدما أماتنا وإليه النشور"، قال: شعبة هذا -أو نحو هذا وإذا نام قال: "اللهم باسمك (أحيا) (٢) وباسمك أموت" (٣).
Hazrat Bara says that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up, he would recite this supplication: All praise is due to Allah who gave me life after causing me to die. And when he intended to sleep, he would recite this supplication: O Allah! In Your name I live and in Your name I die.
