٢٨١٥٠ - حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ قال: حدثنا ابن عون قال: (كان ممن) (١) (يتبع) (٢) أن يحدث بالحديث كما سمع: (محمد) (٣) بن سيرين والقاسم بن محمد ورجاء بن حيوة، وكان ممن لا يتبع ذلك: الحسن وإبراهيم والشعبي.
Ibn Aun says that Muhammad bin Sirin, Qasim bin Muhammad, and Raja bin Haywah were among those who strove to narrate hadith exactly as they had heard it. And Hasan al-Basri, Ibrahim, and Shu’bi were among those who did not strive for this. Ibn Aun says: I submitted to Imam Muhammad: Indeed, so-and-so does not strive to narrate hadith exactly as he heard it. He replied: If he does so, it is better for him.
