Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim narrates that Umar ibn Khattab went out on the day of Eid. As he passed by some women, he sensed fragrance coming from one of their heads. He asked: "Who is the woman wearing perfume? If I find out who she is, I will give her such and such punishment, because a woman may only wear perfume for her husband. And when she goes out, she should wear some old garment of hers or her servant's old garment." The women informed him that this woman had gotten up due to a minor impurity (hadath).
