٢٧٩٠٧ - حدثنا حفص عن عاصم عن الشعبي قال: حدث بحديث فقيل له: أترفع هذا؟ (فقال) (١): دونه أحب إلينا، إن كان خطأ في ذلك أو زيادة أو نقصان كان أحب إلينا.
Hazrat Asim narrates that Imam Shabi related a hadith. He was asked whether he was narrating this hadith as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet). He replied: Narrating it with less attribution is more preferable to us, because if there is any mistake in it, or any addition or omission, then this is more preferable to us.
