Hadith 27254
٢٧٢٥٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي وائل (عن عبد اللَّه) (١) قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إياكم والكذب فإن الكذب يهدي إلى الفجور، وإن الفجور يهدي إلى النار، وإن الرجل ليكذب (ويتحرى الكذب) (٢) حتى يكتب عند اللَّه كذابًا، وعليكم بالصدق فإن الصدق بر، والبر يهدي إلى الجنة، وإن الرجل ليصدق ويتحرى الصدق حتى يكتب عند اللَّه صديقًا" (٣).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid lying, for indeed lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to Hell. And indeed, a man tells lies and adopts lying until he is written with Allah as a liar. And you must speak the truth, for indeed truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And indeed, a man speaks the truth and adopts truthfulness until he is written with Allah as truthful.
