Hadith 27150
٢٧١٥٠ - حدثنا جعفر بن عون قال: أخبرنا أبو العميس عن عبد الحميد (١) بن ⦗١٨٣⦘ سهيل عن عبيد اللَّه (بن عبد اللَّه) (٢) بن عتبة قال: جاء رجل من المجوس إلى رسول اللَّه ﷺ (قد) (٣) حلق لحيته وأطال شاربه، فقال (له) (٤) النبي ﷺ (٥): "ما هذا؟ " (قال) (٦): هذا في ديننا، قال (٧): في ديننا أن نجز الشارب وأن نعفي اللحية (٨).
Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah narrates that a man from among the Magians came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He had shaved his beard and grown his mustache long. The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him: "What is this?" He replied: "This is how it is in our religion." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "But in our religion, the way is that we trim the mustache and let the beard grow."
