Hadith 26983
٢٦٩٨٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن يونس قال: ذكر عبد الرحمن ابن أبي (بكرة) (١) قال: قال: اشج بني عصر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إن فيك ⦗١٣١⦘ لخلقين يحبهما اللَّه"، (قال) (٢): قلت ما هما؟ قال: "الحلم والحياء"، قال: قلت أقديما (كانا) (٣) (أم) (٤) حديثا؟ قال: " (لا) (٥)، بل قديما"، (قال) (٦): قلت: الحمد للَّه الذي جبلني على خلقين يحبهما (اللَّه) (٧) (٨).
Hazrat Ashaj Banu Asr narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Surely, there are two qualities in you which Allah loves. The narrator says: I asked, what are those two? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Humility and modesty. I asked: Are these old or new? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No, rather they are old. I said: All praise is due to Allah who placed in my nature two qualities which are beloved to Allah.
