Hadith 26913
٢٦٩١٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا صفوان بن عيسى عن عبد الأعلى بن عبد اللَّه (بن) (١) أبي فروة قال: سألت سعيد بن المسيب قلت: رجل في خاتمه مثل رأس الطير فقال: يا ابن أخي ما علمنا أحدًا من أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ تختم (لا) (٢) أبو بكر ولا عمر ولا (فلان ولا فلان) (٣)، حتى عد ناسًا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ (٤) فأعدت عليه مرارًا (فكأنه) (٥) يكره الخاتم (٦).
Hazrat Abdul A’la bin Abdullah narrates that I asked Hazrat Sa’eed bin Musayyib about a man who has an image resembling the head of a bird on his ring. What is the ruling regarding this? He replied: O my nephew! We do not know of any companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who wore a ring. Neither Hazrat Abu Bakr, nor Hazrat Umar, nor so-and-so and so-and-so. He mentioned the names of several companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When I asked again, from his answer it seemed that he considered it disliked (makrooh).
