Hadith 26652
٢٦٦٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبد الملك قال: سئل عطاء عن الخضاب بالوسمة فقال: هو مما أحدث الناس، قد (رأيت) (١) نفرًا من أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ فما رأيت أحدًا منهم (يختضب بالوسمة) (٢)، ما كانوا يخضبون إلا بالحناء والكتم وهذه الصفرة (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Malik. He says that Hazrat Ata was asked about dyeing with wasmah. He replied: This is one of the things invented by people. I have seen a group of the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but I have not seen any one of them dyeing with wasmah. They used to dye only with henna, katam, and yellow color.
