Hadith 26404
٢٦٤٠٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حاتم بن وردان (١) عن نافع قال: كسا ابن عمر (مولى له) (٢) يومًا من قباطي مصر، فانطلق به فبعث ابن عمر فدعاه فقال: ما ⦗٥١٨⦘ تريد أن تصنع؟ فقال: أريد أن أجعله درعا (لصاحبتي) (٣) فقال ابن عمر: إن (لم) (٤) يكن يشف فإنه يصف (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi that he says Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) one day made his freed slave wear a Qubati cloth from Egypt, so he took it and went away. Then Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) sent someone to him and called him back. And asked, "What do you intend to make?" He said, "I want to make a shirt for my wife (from this cloth)." Upon this, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Although this cloth is not very thin, it still reveals (the shape of the body)."
