Hadith 25738
٢٥٧٣٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا الثقفي عن أيوب قال: نبئت عن ميمون بن مهران قال: رآني عمر بن عبد العزيز وأنا أشرب، فجعلت أقطع شرابي وأتنفس فقال: إنما (نهي) (١) أن تتنفس في الإناء، فإذا لم تتنفس (في الإناء) (٢) فاشربه إن شئت بنفس واحد.
It is narrated from Ayyub, who says: I received information about Hazrat Maymun bin Mehran that he said: Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz saw me in a state where I was drinking water. Then, while drinking water, I would pause and take a breath, so he said: The only thing that has been prohibited is to breathe inside the vessel. So, if you do not breathe inside the vessel, then if you wish, you may drink the water in a single breath.
