Hadith 25500
٢٥٥٠٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن حميد الطويل عن عقبة ابن ميسرة قال: كنا عند معقل بن يسار، فدعا بطعام فأكلنا، ثم أتينا بقدح من نبيذ ⦗٢٧٨⦘ فشرب وشربنا حتى انتهى إلى ابن له، فأبى أن يشرب، فأخذ معقل عصى كانت عنده، فضرب بها رأسه فشجه ثم قال له: أتفعل كذا وكذا، -وذكر من مساوئه- (وتأبى) (١) أن تشرب من شراب شربه أبوه وعمومته؛ لأنه نبيذ جر (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Maisarah, he says that we were with Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar when he ordered food to be brought. Then a cup of nabidh was brought to us, so Hazrat Ma'qil drank from it and we also drank. Until the cup reached Hazrat Ma'qil's son. He refused with his own hand. So Hazrat Ma'qil took the staff that was with him and struck it on his son's head, injuring his head. Then Hazrat Ma'qil said to his son, "Do you do such things..." Hazrat Ma'qil mentioned his son's inappropriate actions "...and you refuse to drink this beverage which your father and uncles have drunk? (Only) because it is nabidh of a pitcher?"
