It is narrated from Ibn Sirin that a man said to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): "Our family prepares a drink of nabidh for themselves in the morning, which they drink in the evening. And they prepare a drink of nabidh in the evening, which they drink in the morning." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "I forbid you from any intoxicating thing, whether it is little or much. And I make Allah a witness over you that the people of Khaybar used to make nabidh from such-and-such things and used to call it by such-and-such names, but in reality, it was khamr (intoxicant). And the people of Fadak used to make nabidh from such-and-such things and used to call it by such-and-such names, but in reality, it was khamr (intoxicant)." (In this way) he mentioned four drinks, one of which was honey. Ibn Aun says that Ibn Sirin used to mention all of them by name except for honey.
