Hazrat Kharijah bin Salat narrates that his uncle went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he returned, he passed by a villager who was bound in chains. Some people said (to his uncle), "Do you have anything by which you can treat him? Because your companion (meaning the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) has come with good." So I recited Surah Al-Fatihah three times over that villager and performed ruqyah for two consecutive days, and he became healthy. Upon this, those people gave me one hundred sheep as a gift. Then when I reached the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I informed him of this matter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Did you recite anything other than this?" I replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Eat from those sheep, and say Bismillah. By my life! Whoever eats by means of a false amulet, (so be it), but you will certainly eat by means of a true amulet."
