Hadith 24906
٢٤٩٠٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا معتمر عن أبيه قال: شهد رجل عند عمر ابن عبد العزيز على شهادة، فقال المشهود عليه: إنه لا (تقبل) (١) (شهادته) (٢)، قال: ولم؟ قال: لا يدري من أبوه؟ قال: ائتني بشاهد سواه.
Hazrat Mu'tamir narrates from his father that a person testified before Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz. The one against whom the testimony was given said: His testimony is not acceptable. You (Umar bin Abdul Aziz) asked: Why? That person said: Because his father's identity is unknown. Hazrat Umar said: Bring another witness besides him.
