Hadith 24710
٢٤٧١٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يعلي بن عبيد عن محمد بن إسحاق عن ⦗٣١⦘ جهم بن أبي (الجهم) (١) قال: حدثني من سمع عبد اللَّه بن جعفر يحدث أن عليًا كان لا يحضر الخصومة، وكان يقول: إن لها قحما يحضرها الشيطان، فجعل خصومته إلى عقيل، فلما كبر ورق حولها إليَّ، فكان علي يقول: ما قضي لوكيلي فلي، وما قضي على وكيلي فعلي (٢).
Whenever a dispute came to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he would say that there are many unavoidable matters in which Satan is present, in which Satan is present, then he would send that dispute to Hazrat Aqeel. Then, when he became old and weak, he would refer it to me. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: The decision that is made for my representative is for me, and the decision that is made against my representative is against me.
