٢٤٥٥٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (وكيع قال: حدثنا) (١) سفيان عن عبد الكريم (الجزري) (٢) قال: شهد فوم عند عمر بن عبد العزيز على هلال رمضان، فاتهمهم فضربهم سبعين (سبعين) (٣)، وأبطل شهادتهم.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdul Karim Al-Jazari (may Allah have mercy on him) that some people testified about the sighting of the Ramadan moon before Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz. He declared them liars, gave each of them seventy lashes, and invalidated their testimony.
