Hadith 24396
٢٤٣٩٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أبي فروة سمع ابن أبي ليلى قال: قال عمر: من زافت عليه وَرِقُه فلا (يحالف) (١) الناس أنها طيبة، ولكن ليخرج بها إلى السوق فليقل: من يبيعني هذه الدراهم الزيوف بنحو ثوب أو حاجة من حاجته (٢).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that if someone receives counterfeit coins, he should not make people swear by saying that these are genuine. He should take them to the market and say, "Who will give me old clothes in exchange for these counterfeit coins, or who will sell me something I need?"
