Hadith 24261
٢٤٢٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن سماك عن حجار ابن (أبجر) (١) عن علي في رجل كان في يده ثوب، فأقام رجل عليه البينة فقال: (علي) (٢): ادفع إلى هذا ثوبه، واتبع من اشتريت منه (٣). حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن سلمة (بن) (٤) علقمة عن (ابن) (٥) سيرين قال: كانت القضاة تقضي: (فيمن) (٦) باع شيئًا ليس له فهو لصاحبه، إذا (طالبه) (٧) ⦗٤٦١⦘ (و) (٨) (يؤخذ) (٩) هذا (بالشروى) (١٠).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man had a piece of cloth in his possession. Another person produced witnesses against him that the cloth belonged to him. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the first man: Hand over the cloth to him, and recover your loss from the person from whom you bought it.
