An Arab Bedouin came to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: I had given my nephew a she-camel’s calf for his lifetime. He raised it until it became a grown camel. What is your opinion about this? He replied: It belongs to him for his lifetime and after his death as well. The Bedouin said: Then I have given it in charity. He replied: Then now it is even farther from you than before. (Meaning, there is no way for it to return to you.)
