Hadith 24013
٢٤٠١٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة عن ابن عون عن محمد قال: أراد مكاتب أن يعطي مولاه المال (كله) (١)، فقال: لا آخذه إلا نجوما، (فكتب) (٢) له عثمان عتقه، فأخذ المال (و) (٣) قال: أنا أعطيكه نجوما، فلما رأى ذلك الرجل أخذ المال (٤).
It is narrated from Muhammad that if a mukatab intends to pay his entire contract price at once, but his master says, "I will take it in installments (little by little)," Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered the slave to be freed and took the money from him, saying, "I will take it little by little." When the master saw this situation, he accepted the entire amount at once.
